Why Choose Custom?

Don't settle for mass-produced, flimsy grates. Upgrade to professional quality.

Better Heat Distribution

Our 6mm solid steel rods store significantly more thermal energy than thin wire grates. The result is consistent heat across the entire cooking surface and restaurant-quality sear marks every time you grill.

Built to Last

304 stainless steel doesn't rust, warp, or flake — even after years of high-heat grilling. Unlike chrome-plated grates that corrode after a few seasons, our grates are built for a lifetime of outdoor use.

Easy Maintenance

Stainless steel requires no seasoning and won't absorb flavours between cooks. Clean with a grill brush or soak in warm soapy water — the smooth, deburred surface makes maintenance effortless.

Custom vs Standard Grill Grates

See what separates a purpose-built grate from a mass-produced one

Feature Custom Grate Standard Grate
Material 6mm solid 304 stainless steel rods Thin chrome-plated wire or stamped sheet metal

Heat retention High — thick rods store and radiate heat evenly Low — thin material loses heat on contact
Sear marks Bold, defined grill lines Faint or uneven marks
Durability Lifetime — won't rust, warp, or flake 1–3 seasons before rust or chrome peeling
Maintenance No seasoning needed, dishwasher safe Requires regular seasoning to prevent rust

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our custom grill grates

We use premium 304 stainless steel for all our grill grates. This is food-grade, corrosion-resistant steel that withstands extreme heat without warping. It's the same grade used in professional kitchen equipment and is safe for direct food contact at any grilling temperature.

Each grill grate is custom-manufactured to your exact specifications. Production typically takes 5–7 business days, followed by shipping which takes 3–5 business days within Europe and 7–12 business days for international orders. You'll receive a tracking number as soon as your grate ships.

Since every grate is custom-made to your dimensions, we cannot accept returns for change of mind. However, we offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee: if your grate doesn't fit as specified or has any manufacturing defect, we will remake it or provide a full refund. Contact our support team within 30 days of delivery.

Measure the inside dimensions of your grill's firebox where the grate sits — width and depth in centimetres. Measure at the ledge or support rails where the grate rests. For the best fit, subtract 2–3mm from each side. Our sizing guide has step-by-step instructions with photos for popular grill brands.

Custom grill grates use thicker 6mm solid stainless steel rods compared to the thin stamped sheet metal or chrome-plated wire in most stock grates. This means dramatically better heat retention, superior sear marks, and a grate that lasts a lifetime instead of rusting out after a few seasons. The precise 8mm spacing is optimised to maximise airflow while preventing food from falling through.
